Step 2. Selecting a QSF Template
⚠️ Before using any of the templates below, you must first complete your own GPT server configuration. This includes deploying a secure backend using your personal OpenAI API key. Make sure to start with our Getting Started guide which explains how to create your own server using our GitHub repository.
This page is the official LUCID repository of downloadable Qualtrics templates (.qsf files) used to embed GPT-powered chatbot interactions into your surveys. Each template reflects a different experimental design or interaction style. Once you've selected a template, continue to Step 3: Configuration for detailed instructions on how to import the template into Qualtrics, connect it to your backend, and customize it for your study.
Starter Template
This template allows survey participants to engage in a single back-and-forth conversation with a GPT-powered chatbot inside a Qualtrics survey.
Between-subject Manipulation in Conversation
This template allows researchers to randomly allocate survey participants to engage with one of two GPT-powered chatbots inside a Qualtrics survey.
